Michael Macaluso accepts appointment as a Visiting Professor in the MBA program at Hanoi School of Business, Vietnam National University and as co-director of its Capital and Asset Management Program 

New York, September 23, 2013 — Michael Macaluso, today accepted appointment, on a part-time basis, as a Visiting Professor in the MBA program at Hanoi School of Business (HSB), Vietnam National University, and as co-director of its Capital and Asset Management Program (CAMP).  According to HSB, “the program is designed to bring practical benefits to students who … intend to participate in activities in a field that is of vital importance for enterprises in Vietnam.”  Special emphasis of the program is on the practical application of management theory to modern financial assessment and to address the challenges that Vietnamese enterprises are facing, such as capital structure management, dealing with global partners, joint ventures and raising capital domestically and outside of Vietnam. HSB’s program is widely regarded as a leading MBA program in Vietnam.

“It is a great honor to accept this appointment” said Mr. Macaluso. “I very much look forward to sharing my experience, insights and thoughts with, but as well learning from, the distinguished faculty and students of HSB.” He also stated that “Vietnam is a rapidly developing country with a dynamic business sector where I have been working with U.S. based and other foreign investors and companies as well as Vietnamese companies in various kinds of corporate and financial transactions including joint ventures, IPOs and direct investments.”

ABOUT MR. MACALUSO: He is a partner in DLA Piper’s global corporate finance, capital markets and investment funds practices.  He regularly advises clients in the establishment and ongoing management of global programs and strategies particularly with respect to Asia and Europe.  He has been deeply involved in assisting clients through several capital markets liquidity crises including 2007-9.  Mr. Macaluso received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and has been Associate Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School for more than a decade in the area of global capital markets.
