DLA Piper hat China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd (“CIMC”), einen chinesischen Nutzfahrzeug- und Logistikkonzern, beim Erwerb des schwäbischen Traditionsunternehmens Ziegler beraten. CIMC zahlte für Ziegler nach der Insolvenz rund 55 Millionen Euro für die Übernahme. Der Logistiker bietet dem schwäbischen Mittelständler eine ideale Basis für den Ausbau seiner internationalen Geschäfte.

CIMC ist ein chinesischer Nutzfahrzeug- und Logistikkonzern mit Sitz in Shenzhen. Dieser beschäftigt weltweit rund 63.000 Mitarbeiter und setzte im vergangenen Jahr 8,9 Milliarden Euro um.

Der 1891 gegründete schwäbische Feuerwehrfahrzeughersteller Ziegler mit Firmensitz in Giengen an der Brenz beschäftigt international über 850 Mitarbeiter. Das Unternehmen liefert jährlich um die 500 Feuerwehrfahrzeuge an Feuerwehren, Kommunen und Industrieunternehmen weltweit und erwirtschaftete im Jahr 2012 einen Umsatz von 172 Millionen Euro. Zum Produktportfolio gehören insbesondere die bekannten sechsachsigen Flugfeldlöschfahrzeuge, die beispielsweise am Frankfurter Flughafen und anderen internationalen Drehkreuzen eingesetzt warden.

DLA Piper has advised China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. (“CIMC”), a Chinese commercial vehicles and logistics company, on its acquisition of the well-known Swabian company Ziegler.  CIMC acquired Ziegler after its insolvency for approximately 55 million Euros.  CIMC offers Ziegler an ideal base for the expansion of its international business.

CIMC is a Chinese commercial vehicle and logistics company based in Shenzhen that employs around 63,000 people and recorded sales last year of 8.9 billion Euros.

Founded in 1891 in Swabia, the fire engine manufacturer Ziegler is headquartered in Giengen and employs over 850 staff internationally. The company provides around 500 fire engines to fire departments, municipalities and industrial companies worldwide every year and generated sales of 172 million Euros in 2012. The product portfolio includes in particular the well-known six-axis airport fire engine, which are used for example at Frankfurt Airport and other international hubs.
